This is a tiny project my brother and I developed to finally realise a childhood dream: Have our favourite hotwheels be turned into 1:64 scaled RC controlled drift- and race cars! The mechanical chassis consists of transparent 3d-printed resin components holding the third version of our designed circuit system. Our priority was to choose the components primarily with respect to cost-efficiency. This meant substituting the otherwise costly micro rc receivers with esp-32 microcontrollers. The circuit has adapted to serve configurable levels of voltage and supports lights, speakers, and sensors from the esp’s digital pins. Consequently, costing barely above 10€ per unit. Even though the system’s fit within an unmodified die cast chassis isn’t yet seamless, it’s only the third iteration yet.
